AHOLDS GIANT FOOD INTRODUCES ORGANIC FOOD LINE

US supermarket chain Giant Food is introducing a new line of organic and natural food products, called "Nature's Promise", at all of its 200 stores.

Giant, owned Ahold, will initially introduce 25 Nature's Promise products in the dairy and grocery categories, including organic and soy milk, assorted natural cookies, organic juices and organic chips. A total of 90 new Nature's Promise products will be available in Giant stores by early next year.

Nature's Promise Natural and Organic products will be free of artificial colours and flavours, hydrogenated oils, and bleached and bromated flours. The organic products meet all USDA organic certification requirements.
