Connecticut state police are investigating the alleged theft of thousands of dollars worth of frozen organic beef from the White Hollow Farm, a small processor located neat Torrington.

The business is owned by Robin Cockerline and her husband. She told police the weekend theft "put a pretty big dent in our inventory, which is processed from grass-fed cattle.

"They really cleaned us," Robin Cockerline said. "We have been processing, on average, one animal a month and there was probably three animals worth of meat taken. They took a lot of stuff."

The thieves also reportedly took an assortment of power tools.

Cockerline said their product offers a good choice for people looking for healthier cuts of beef.

"Animals that graze on lush pasture grasses naturally produce a lean meat rich in Omega-III fats," Cockerline said. "Our beef is aged for a full month after slaughter at a USDA inspected facility. Aging tenderizes the beef with excellent results. Choice cuts are vacuum packed in a clear wrap, which allow for longer storage times. We produce our beef as close to organic as possible. We call it 'Certified Pretty Good.'"
